Hey everyone, the blog was down for a few days after getting affected by a malware attack. Luckily I have Sucuri protecting my primary domain and this blog which is on a subdomain. I use Sucuri to backup my websites and to fix malware and hacker issues anytime they arise. I’m likely going to add their webproxy service also to help keep attackers out of my sites. They were able to connect to my web host and clean all the affected files.
If you have a website that is important to you, and especially if it is tied to your business, I highly recommend Sucuri for site backups and malware prevention/removal.
Now that those issues are resolved I can get back to blogging. I’m getting excited about 2015. Several years ago while meditating on the future, I had an inkling that 2012 and 2015 would be big years. 2012 started off with the sale of our house and kicked of our adventures in apartment renting. That was also the year that Rethinking the Dream really started to grow. According to my premonition 2015 is supposed to be my best year yet.
2015 is kicking off with us buying a house and transitioning from renting back into home ownership. It was a rapid transition and my wife and I had to work through some different visions of the future, but now we’re in the house and in a new year. Now that I’ve had some time to reflect, I have more to say on the house vs. apartment scenario. I haven’t had any changes in my personal views, but I am more sensitive to the differing needs/wants of others, my wife included. As a clutter coach, professional organizer, and blogger this insight will help me serve you better.
Here are some of my plans for this year:
Get more consistent with posts on this blog. Some weeks I post a lot and some weeks I don’t post anything. I’d like to have at least one new post per week and the add in more posts when I have the opportunity. I have a lot of things bouncing around in my head, and it’s about darn time for me to get more of those things out of my head on shared on the blog.
Add Professional Organizer to my list of services. Currently I offer clutter coaching, but I’d like to get more hands on. I struggled with the idea on moving in this direction because I’d rather focus on the decluttering than the organizing. I attended a Professional Organizer training and the instructor made a comment about the best part being shopping for organizing stuff. That didn’t sit well with me as a minimalist and declutter expert.
I think that if you declutter enough the organizing becomes easier, and in most cases you don’t need to buy lots of fancy organizing gadgets and storage containers. After some thought, I think I can simply advertise myself as the type of Professional Organizer that focuses on clutter.
Create an online program for decluttering. I’d like to start an inexpensive program that will walk you through a whole house declutter through the course of a year. I plan on offering live webcasts where I’ll speak about how to approach decluttering in different areas of the house. This will also give me the opportunity to answer questions in a live format.
I’ve been looking for a premium offering to fit between the free blog content and the more expensive one-on-one coaching and professional organizing, and I think this might just be it.
I’m setting up the background details for this now – working on the website, creating outlines and content, and setting up all the other backend stuff. I hope to get this ready to roll soon. I’ll offer a discount to current readers to get things started, so keep an eye out here for an announcement.
I’m excited about 2015 and hope that you are having a great start to your year. Do you have any big plans for 2015? I’d love to hear about them in the comments section below.
